We’re excited to introduce this year’s school blog staff, all members of Mr. Sullivan’s journalism class: Auslynn Thrapp, Brecken Smith, Madilynn Tones, Grace Hinchee, Sydney Mynatt, Janell Heaton, and Maddie Whitlock.
This is only the second year journalism has been offered at West Prairie, but already our program is growing and changing. Last year, our class produced a monthly newspaper. While that format gave us a chance to share news and stories, we found that once-a-month publishing sometimes meant big events had already passed before the paper came out.
That’s why this year we are excited to switch to a school blog format. Blogging will let us:
- Post updates more frequently, instead of waiting for the next newspaper issue.
- Streamline communication by putting everything in one easy-to-access place.
- Reach more readers by building a subscriber base.
- Celebrate and share all the wonderful things West Prairie students are doing in real time.
Our team’s goal is to keep the school community connected, informed, and proud of the amazing things happening at West Prairie. We look forward to sharing stories, highlights, and student accomplishments throughout the year.
Stay tuned for our first posts coming soon –– and don’t forget to subscribe so you never miss an update!
