Auslynn Thrapp is a senior at West Prairie Junior/Senior High School in Colchester, Illinois. This is her first year in journalism, and she’s excited to take on the challenge during her final year of high school. An animal lover, Auslynn enjoys going home each day to her best friend. She has big plans for the future and hopes to pursue a career as a tattoo artist.
Auslynn’s passions include learning more about herself with support from her best friend Isabell, her mom Amie, and Brooke Beckner, a member of the West Prairie staff. She is eager to use journalism as a way to connect with her community, meet new people, and grow as a writer. While she already enjoys writing, she hopes this class will give her more practice and help her strengthen her skills for the future.
As a senior, Auslynn is making the most of her last year by taking on new challenges, including journalism, food science, and yearbook. Though she admits she’s a little nervous, she is determined to face everything head-on and enjoy her final year to the fullest.
