Maddie Whitlock is a junior at West Prairie Junior/Senior High School in Colchester. She was born on April 28, 2009. She has seven siblings in total and lives with her father, Tyler, and stepmother, Briana, along with her stepbrother, Bentley, and two half-sisters, Autumn and Teagan. For fun, Maddie likes to read, write, cook, watch TV, and practice cheers in her spare time.

Maddie is also involved in several school activities, including FFA, football cheer, basketball cheer, and, of course, journalism. She also has fourteen animals: one dog, three cats, and ten chickens.

Maddie’s favorite subject in school is English because she’s very passionate about reading and writing. Even if it’s just an essay for school or a small note to someone, she always puts her heart and soul into whatever she writes. She has even thought about writing her own book someday and self-publishing it when she’s older. Another thing about Maddie is that, no matter what, she usually tries to keep a smile on her face. Even on a bad day, she always finds something to smile about. Maddie is very adventurous too; she loves being outside helping her dad cook, helping her stepmom with the chickens, and tending to their garden.
