If you’re at a home football game this fall, follow the savory smell of pork chops sizzling on the grill—you’ll find Will Butler, Kenson Welsh, and Kendrick Welsh hard at work behind the stand they call Grillmasters and Co.

The trio is grilling to raise money for the FFA during home games in Sciota on Sept. 12, Sept. 26, Oct. 3, and Oct. 24.Their teamwork is what makes the stand run smoothly: Kenson handle the seasoning, while Will and Kendrick takes charge of the grill—flipping chops, checking for doneness, and making sure everything is cooked to perfection.

For the boys, the cookouts are about more than just food. They see it as a way to support their chapter while also creating lasting memories with friends.

“I really enjoy the cookouts because I can have good times and make memories with my friends while cooking amazing pork chops,” said sophomore Will Butler. “It feels pretty good to know that I am contributing to help raise money for the FFA.”

Freshman Kenson Welsh agreed: “I enjoy going to the cookout and hanging out while having a lot of fun grilling with my friends.”

Sophomore Kendrick Welsh added that grilling is both fun and practical. “I enjoy grilling because it’s a good skill to learn and you get to talk to all your friends and grill lots of pork chops. The most challenging part is you can’t drop the pork chop on the ground or down in the grill.”

So next time you’re cheering on the home team, make sure to stop by Grillmasters and Co. Not only will you get a perfectly seasoned pork chop hot off the grill, but you’ll also be supporting the FFA and the students who make it all possible. Porkchops are priced at $5.
