The West Prairie FFA Alumni Association will host a scholarship auction March 13 at 6 p.m. at the McDonough County 4-H Auditorium, 3022 W. Jackson St., Macomb. The auction is open to the public.

According to the West Prairie FFA Alumni Association’s mission statement, the scholarship auction supports and advocates for agricultural education and FFA through gifts of time, talent and financial resources at the local level.

Community members donate items requested by the alumni or items they have previously contributed. FFA members present the donations in front of the audience while attendees use bidding numbers to place bids. After the bidding concludes, an FFA member delivers the donated item to the winning bidder. At the end of the auction, winners pay for their items in the carpet room. Proceeds from the auction are donated to the FFA Alumni to support scholarships for graduating seniors continuing their education, national convention attendance and other FFA trips funded by the alumni.

Students interested in applying for the FFA Alumni Scholarship can do so beginning March 1 through April 1 by contacting their FFA advisors or school counselor. Scholarship recipients will be announced at the banquet May 2, 2026, at 5 p.m. at the high school.

In addition, the Ag Business Class will serve a pork chop sandwich meal from 5 to 6:30 p.m. prior to the auction.
