West Prairie FFA chapter is excited to announce their new officer team for the 2025-26 school year. It is routine to elect or reelect six officers each year. This is to provide fresh leadership and new perspectives. Students who are active members in FFA and becoming an officer had the chance to apply in the spring of 2025. After applying there is an election within the school and the members with the highest votes get to be a part of the officer team.
The 2025-26 school year officer team includes:
President – William Phelps (Jr.)
Vice president – Carlee Jackson (Jr.)
Reporter – Kenadie Webster (Sr.)
Secretary – Eli DeCounter (Jr.)
Treasurer – Brexton DeJaynes (Jr.)
Sentinel – Payton McGrew (So.)
The advisors of the West Prairie FFA chapter are Alison McGrew and Sam DeCounter. McGrew has been an advisor for 3 years while Decounter has been an advisor for 10 years. McGrew shared the new officer team is already hitting the ground running with high expectations and goals for this year.
“The officer team has been working really hard to plan out activities this year. One major goal they set earlier this summer was to maximize member involvement,” McGrew said.
Carlee Jackson, the Vice President of the West Prairie FFA chapter, has been a member of FFA for 3 years. This year will be her first year on the officer team.
“I am most excited about getting to know everyone more. This year we are going to work on doing more team building and I am excited to see how that turns out.” Carlee said.
West Prairie’s FFA chapter is very busy with planning fun activities and events. A few of the major events coming up in September include Discoveries Discovering kickoff workshop on Tuesday, September 9th. Section 11 Forestry CDE on Wednesday, September 17th.
